Looking for a good quality electric metal gates? We can help!
KP SteelCraft Ltd is a manufacturer and installer of electric metal gates, automatic electric sliding gates and metal driveway gates for customers from Wales and southwest England.
The entrance gate is the “business card” of our property, therefore it is important that it matches the elevation and style of the building. You can choose between sliding and double-wing entry gates.
The gate may be equipped with an automatic (drive) system, which will make opening and closing it much easier. However, if you value convenience and technological innovation, select a smart gate controlled by a smartphone. Please check some designs of our gates in the projects section.
If the plot is small and narrow – the best will be a swing gate, which needs little space to open.
We will discuss the design and functionality of our electric gates in detail during our initial consultation. But please feel free to contact us if you have questions.
Below you will find a few answers to popular questions our clients usually ask.
Can you open an electric gate manually?
Our customers often ask this question: what happens if there is a power cut or a problem with the remote? Can an electric gate be open manually?
We understand this concern and can confirm that an automatic gate, regardless of whether it is a sliding electric gate or of a different design, can be open without electricity.
Of course, only the person who has a special mechanical key can open the electric gate manually.
Can electric gates be forced open?
The safety of our customers and their property is our top priority, and that is why the gates designed and manufactured by us are robustly built and have got many safety features.
In normal circumstances, an electric gate cannot be opened by force. To open the gate, you use a remote control or your mobile phone app linked to the gate opener.
In emergency situations (a power cut or a flat battery in the remote), it is still possible to open the gate by using a mechanical key held by the customer.
Are electric gates dangerous?
Electric gates can be dangerous, but the gates manufactured by KP SteelCraft are equipped with many safety features, minimizing the risk. Naturally, the electric gate is made of metal and its moving part has weight. Therefore, you should always pay attention to soundings when opening and closing the gate, especially in the presence of children.
However, the gates installed by us are equipped with one or more of these safety features:
- Photocells – To detect any items that may be in the gate’s path, devices like “photo-eyes” and infrared sensors can be placed. When one of these devices detects an object, it prevents the gate from opening or closing until the item is removed.
- Pressure Ribs – Pressure sensitive ribs installed on the connecting edge of the gate can also help avoid injury while in use. If the ribs come into contact with something when the gate is shutting, they will quickly halt it. Some models even have the ability to re-open the gate.
- Pressure Limiters – Pressure limiter detects the average amount of pressure necessary to close the gate. If a pressure limitation monitor detects pressure levels that are higher than usual, the gate will be stopped.
Electric metal gates installation
Because we measure the site and manufacture our gates ourselves, electric gate installation is a straightforward process. Our qualified team arrive at the site on the agreed date and installs the gate according to our rigorous and tested procedure.
Depending on the complexity of the project, electric gate installation usually takes between 1 and 2 days.
